The duo is formed by the haspist Francesca Romana di Nicola and the oboist Itziar Lujambio. They met each other during the superior degree in Musikene. The Higher School of Music of the Basque Country.

After that, each one continued in her way. Itziar moved to Cologne, Germany to perfected the oboe’s playing and Francesca has enriched her experience playing with national and international orchestras.

After three years, they meet again in the Basque Country to share what they have learned and to develop a largel repertoire .

They start having recitals around Basque Country and France.

Francesca Romana Di Nicola

She started her studies in Italy and she improved abroad with Frederique Cambreling, her principal teacher. She also attend to masterclasses with Skaila Kanga, Fabrice Pierre, Anna Loro, Elisabeth Fontain-Binoche, Judith Liber, Marie Pierre Langlamet.In 2005 she won a scholarship for the High Conservatory of Music Musikene in St. Sebastian, achieving a superior degree under the guide of Frederique Cambreling and Christine Icart in 2012.In 2006 she won a scholarship for orchestral master in Florence Theater Academy Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the direction of Zubin Mehta, and in 2011 in Switzerland for Lucern Contemporary Music Academy under the direction of Pierre Boulez.During her professional career, she collaborated in Italy with Orchestra Sinfonica di Pescara , Officina Musicale Italiana, Orchestra Regionale Umbra,  Camerata Strumentale di PratoIn Spain, with Orquesta Filarmonica de Oviedo, Basque Country Symphony Orchestra, Zahir Ensemble, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, Kaabestri Ensemble;with German orchestra Das Neue Orchester Koeln .In Africa, with Orchestre Symphonique National Algerien as invited soloist, playing Mozart Concerto for flute, harpe and orchestra.In France, with Orchestre de Pau and Ensemble Intercontemporain (E.I.C.) of Paris; with this group she made an european tournée under the direction of Pierre Boulez, that toke place in Lucern KKL, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Prinzenregententeather of Munich, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Royal Festival Hall in London.

Itziar Lujambio Ernabide

She studied the superior degree in Musikene (The Higher School of Music of the Basque Country), with the recognized teachers Juan Manuel Lumbreras, Manuel Angulo, Alexey Ogrintchouk and Christian Wetzel. She completed her studies in the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Germany, Cologne), with the oboist Christian Wetzel, with a scholarship she won in the territory of Gipuzkoa. In 2013 she got the certificate in Master of Music in the specialization of solo and chamber music. She also attended regular masterclasses with Ingo Gorintzki and Thomas Indermühle.

 

She has been member of the Young Orchestra of the Basque Country, participating as a soloist in the concert tour in 2010. She played as well several times like a soloist with the Francisco Escudero orchestra. Between 2011 and 2015 she collaborated with the Basque National Orchestra , Klassiche Phillharmonie Bonn, regularly with the Italian orchestra Spira Mirabilis (tours in Italy, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland and Belgium) and as a soloist with the Orchestra Arimaz, taking part in the recognized Seasson of Baroque Music of Ordizia.

 

She published the album Begiradak with the duo Muganduo , in which the work of basque piano and oboe composers is recollected.
